Biography
Emilie Cleuver is Born and raised in a Dutch musical family, Emilie learned drumming at her parents’ knees. She was taught drums by several teachers at Drumschool Cleuver in the Hague the Netherlands, a drum school founded by her father, which was and still is situated in the basement of the family’s home where Emilie grew up. She was confronted with lots of music and professional musicians from early age, which inspired her to become a drummer.
She played in different productions such as Cirque Stiletto (with leading lady Ellen ten Damme), percussion group Slagerij van Kampen and several Cirque du Soleil shows, touring in North-America, Canada, Mexico, Saudi and Europe a.o. Apart from being a drummer, Emilie has also developed as a percussion player. She studied different percussion instruments (such as congas, bongos, timbales, cajón and daf) and took lessons from several top percussionists e.g. Adel Gonzalez and Roicel Riveròn. She has grown very fond of Cuban music. From 2015, she has been part of the all female latin orchestra ZuleMax. |
